How to set set an image (Jpg file) as backimage?

You can follow the steps listed below to set your own image(JPG)
as backimage in ZLauncher:

1. Transfer your images onto expansion card. Then copy those
images into directory (/Palm/Programs/ZLauncher/BackImage/)
through ZLauncher File Manager.

2. Now tap the Tab title to go into "Tab Properties",and
you will see an option that can select backimage in the
bottom of "General". Then select it and "OK".

3. If you don't see any back image listed in the section, then
install "Jpeglib.prc"(which can be found in the folder "Plugin"
of the download package) to your handheld. Since then ZLauncher
can support Jpg file to set as backimage.

How can I set a image without an expension card?

Images can be either in Windows BMP format or JPG format.

1) Copy your image file to the ¡°Palm¡± folder under the ¡°MS¡± folder.
a.EX: C:\Clie_PalmSim\MS\PALM

2) Start the simulator (do the screen calibration, etc.) and click on the memory stick
¡°in/out¡± button to enable the virtual memory stick.

3) Run ZLauncher in the simulator,

4) Turn on the tabs in ZLauncher
a. Click menu (in the virtual graffiti area), and then select ¡°Options¡±
and then ¡°ZL Preferences¡±.

b. In the top of the display, in the ¡°TabMode¡± drop down menu, select
¡°Left¡±, (My preference) and then OK.

5) The tabs should now be displayed and should include a tab that has an ¡°SD¡± card icon.

6) Click on the ¡°SD¡± card tab, and then on the ¡°PALM¡± folder in the main screen.

7) The image file you copied should now be shown on the screen. Click on the image
icon with the mouse and hold the mouse button down until a menu appears. In this
menu, select ¡°BackImage¡±.

8) You will now be given the option of which tab to assign the image. We¡¯ll use ¡°MAIN¡±,
so select ¡°MAIN¡± and then OK.

9) When you click on the MAIN tab, your image should now appear as the background image in the simulator.

10) To be able to copy the new file to the virtual memory card, you need to turn off the back image first.
a. Make sure the ¡°MAIN¡± tab is already selected, and then select it again. This will open a menu
that has lots of settings, but at the bottom of the ¡°General¡± tab (just above ¡°OK¡± and ¡°Cancel¡±
is the backimage setting. The name of your image should be shown.

b. Click on the image name and this will open another menu. In this menu select ¡°-No Back Image-
¡° click ¡°Select¡± then select ¡°OK¡± and then ¡°OK¡± again.

11) Now it¡¯s time to move the image to your hard drive. Make sure the ¡°Main¡± tab is selected and then click
on the ¡°Main¡± tab again. In the menu click on ¡°-No Back Image-¡°.

12) The next menu that appears should have your image listed and it will have a PDA icon next to it. Click on your
image filename and then select ¡°Copy¡±.

13) After this step, your image should be converted into pdb format and will be located in the ¡°BackImage¡± folder.
a. EX: C:\Clie_PalmSim\MS\PALM\Programs\ZLauncher\Backimages

You can now load the backimage file on your PDA by double clicking it, or by using the Palm Desktop install tool.
